Corals in the Cotswolds – Michelle and Ben at The Kingscote Barns

pink and peach brides bouquet

Well the sun is shining like it’s still summer, but I can’t believe it’s September already and over a month since my last blog post! Time to update you all with some of  the beautiful weddings I’ve worked on over the summer months………

First up, Michelle and Ben’s big day at The Kingscote Barns in Tetbury. Set in it’s own secluded valley, the beautiful old Cotswold Stone barn is the perfect venue for a relaxed, rustic wedding and perfectly suited to natural, rustic-style flowers. Michelle and Ben chose Kerry Schofield to photograph their celebrations, capturing the little moments of love and laughter in her natural and romantic style and I’m delighted to share some of Kerry’s photo’s with you all, along with some of my own flowery photos from the day….

Michelle’s bouquet included peonies, roses, dahlias, freesias, brunia and senecio foliage in cerises, corals and tones of pink for a bright, summery bouquet. Her bridesmaids were in peach and grey pattered dresses so we kept the flowers simple with posies of gypsophila. The boys’ buttonholes reflected the flowers used in the bouquet together with scabious seedheads for a natural look.

The ceremony took place outside The Kingscote Barn in the garden area with views over the valley and the most gorgeous oak framed gazebo where the couple made their vows. I decorated the oak framed arch with a summery garland of roses, hydrangea, dahlias, gypsophila and foliage.

In keeping with the rustic vibe the barn was decorated with jam jar posies and vintage glass bottles for the reception, with a display of wooden apple crates, a vintage watering can and a mini milk churn at the entrance, welcoming guests to the celebration.

My thanks once again to Kerry for her photos and of course to the gorgeous Mr & Mrs Townsley, Michelle and Ben for choosing me to do their flowers!
