When I first met Alice and Simon and they described how they’d like their vintage styled, rustic, country Christmas wedding at Lyde Court, Herefordshire I knew exactly the sort of flowers I would create….loose, wild and whimsical, full of foliage, seasonal berries, pine cones and textured twiggy bits, quite frankly right up my floral street! When they told me that the lovely Camilla Rosa Photography was capturing their day, it sealed the deal for a dreamy, romantic winter wedding which I am super-happy to be sharing with you now!
They had chosen a loose colour scheme of navy blues and golds for a touch of festive sparkle, combined with rich reds and shades of green from the foliage and flowers. Alice’s bouquet was wild, natural hand-tied style with velvety Grand Prix roses, spray roses, ranunculus, berries, pine cones and lots of lush green foliage. The gorgeous girls had similar, smaller version of the brides bouquet for their flowers.
Alice also had an additional bouquet made up as a tribute to leave in the church, such a lovely thought to remember loved ones who can’t be present on the day.
The buttonholes were rich red roses, combined with hypericum berries, gold sprayed poppy seed heads, festive foliage and an eryngium thistle for the dapper groom.
The top table was adorned with sprigs of seasonal ivy, tea lights and heart wreath full of flowers and foliage which was also hung at the entrance to the church. The guest tables had wreaths placed round the base of tall candelabras adding a romantic winter glow to the barn at Lyde Court.
I’ll leave you with a gorgeous picture of the happy couple, a picture of love and happiness.
Huge thanks to Alice and Simon for letting me share their Christmas wedding, and of course to Camilla Rosa for capturing the story of their day so beautifully.
