Love at Lyde – Amy and Darren’s rustic October wedding at Lyde Court, Herefordshire

Posted on February 3rd, 2015

Hey flower lovers I’ve a treat for you today, some gorgeous images from Amy and Darren’s wedding, courtesy of the lovely Rachel Lilly Photography. I’ve a lot to thank Rachel for as the couple decided to book me for their wedding flowers after Amy saw a bouquet I’d created for a rustic styled shoot with Rachel back in May last year. The rustic style was perfectly suited to their October wedding in the stunning barn at Lyde Court, Herefordshire and I was more than happy to create natural, textured bouquets, buttonholes and a rustic heart wreath.

For Amy’s bouquet I used romantic roses in soft peaches and creams and a bright two-tone coral-yellow; along with dainty wax flowers, fragrant lavender, hypericum berries, foliage and grasses combined with seed heads of honesty, poppy and scabious for rustic texture.

Amy’s gorgeous girls had a similar rustic bouquet in soft creams and peaches which looked lovely against their navy blue dresses.

The boys’ buttonholes used elements from Amy’s bouquet including the peach-orange spray roses, scabious and poppy seed heads, lavender and wax flower, tied with rustic garden twine, which looked super with their dapper grey checked suits.

As you’ll probably know by now one of my absolute favourite designs are heart wreaths, they’re just so pretty and romantic and perfect for a statement on a entrance door, top table or a ceremony table like Amy and Darren. I used lots of roses, hypericum berries, seed heads and foliage along with a base of dried hydrangea and was so pleased with the outcome! It looked gorgeous adorning the vintage ceremony table in the outside barn at Lyde and then they moved it to the centre of the top table.

I also popped a few roses and flowers on top of the cake for a simple decoration in keeping with the style of the wedding.

So as you can see a beautiful wedding full of rustic beauty, thank you so much to Amy and Darren for involving me as a small part of their day, and also to Rachel for letting me share her gorgeous images.
